Featured Quilt - Third Place Wall Quilts: Modern Quilts at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2025

Fish by Marianne Knöps won Third Place - Wall Quilts: Modern Quilts (Sponsored by Statler by Gammill) at AQS QuiltWeek - Paducah 2025, and was also featured at the 2024 Houston International Quilt Festival. Marianne's quilt was inspired by a very special person in her life, and now holds even more significance for her as that person is now gone. But even though they may no longer may be here, their love is still felt by her deeply. She says, As a 15-year-old boy, you made a beautiful drawing, and 52 years later, your drawing is the inspiration for my quilt, Fish. You're gone, but I've been working on this quilt with you on my mind. Your fish, my Fish... your love, my love."

A Newbie and a Returnee Join Us This Sunday

Our new show this week brings with it a new guest and a returning visitor whom we haven't see in quite some time. The first-timer, Brandy Maslowski, is setting the quilting world on fire with her Quilter on Fire podcast. And our previous guest, Merrily Parker, makes her first visit back since Series Three. What will they be teaching? Come along to the set with us and see if you can figure it all out before the show airs this Sunday!

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Keeping An "Eye" Out

"Good Eye" by Karla Overland

Good Eye is special to Karla as it is based off of her husband's photography. The eye of the title, and featured prominently on the quilt, is actually a photo of Karla's husband's eye that he took himself, while the plant covered in frost comes from another photo that he took. So, loving both photos, Karla created her interpretation of them in fabric, and Good Eye was born.
