Featured Quilt - WonderFil Specialty Threads Best Miniature Quilt Award at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2026

Stellar by Antari Foster won the WonderFil Specialty Threads Best Miniature Quilt Award at AQS QuiltWeek - Paducah 2026. Antari says, "This quilt is my most technically challenging to date. I challenged myself to improve my skills with foundation paper piecing, reverse appliqué, and tiny turned-edge circles. I also wanted to create a different kind of edging. The compasses were very tricky to make. My first attempt was not accurate. It stretched and didn't lie flat. I had to bin all the pieces and start over! The reverse appliqué placements and accuracy required a lot of thought, but it got there in the end."

The Quilt Show Puzzle: From Order to "Mayhem"

"Maran's Mayhem" by Lyric Kinard

When Lyric filmed with The Quilt Show in Charleston, she did a segment on color theory and used a stack of blue nine-patches to illustrate motion, texture, and shape. When she got home she decided she would take those nine-patches and put them together as a quilt. What she discovered was that piecing was not a love of hers,  got through the number of nine-patches that are in this quilt, and then made the decision that that would be all there is. She then went about with her scraps and began crazy-piecing blocks, which she also came to the conclusion was not for her. The rest of the quilt, which she entitled Maran's Mayhem, then became a large singular piece of negative-space fabric that Lyric dyed and then quilted.
