Featured Quilt - Country Couture On the Catwalk

Cowgirl Runway by Margery Hedges was featured as part of the Pictorial-Large category (Sponsored by World Of Quilts Travel) at Houston International Quilt Festival 2024. It depicts a fashion show where you, YES YOU, get to be the judge and pick the best look. Margery says, "This is a design competition with a "Cowgirl" theme. It combines my love of southwestern quilts with a fashion twist. This even is located in a barn, of course. You the viewer are the audience and judges. It's up to you to choose the winning designer."

Everyone Loves Lynn Wilder and Our New BOM!

An Entertaining and Educational Start to a Great Year Ahead

Every year we are try and make our Block Of the Month experience one that our members will enjoy and will create a quilt from that will be cherished forever. 2025 is off to a great start then, as our members just love Lynn Wilder and her Laurel Ridge quilt, our 2025 Block Of the Month. Here's just a sampling of the love being shared for Lynn and her work:

"What an amazing show, inspiring and uplifting (don't miss the after set) with lots of clearly explained tips and information from Lynn. I am so excited to start this years BOM - a full years TQS membership wouldn't cover the cost of this pattern. Thank you TQS and Lynn." - Pamela N.

"Such an inspiring episode on so many levels. I wasn't going to do this year's BOM but now I am all in. I have plenty of stash to work from. Lynn's entire approach promises to make this a very special year indeed. You are all the best! Thank you, thank you!" - Rebecca B.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Going "Home" Again

"My Country Home" by Carolyn Hock

My Country Home is Carolyn's version of The Quilt Show's Block Of the Month created by Lynette Anderson for 2015. While the kit version came in pastels, such as greens, blues, and pinks, Carolyn used her own color palette of blacks, reds, and grays that we think is a knockout!

Someone asked about taking pictures of a quilt. I was part of the Historical Society in SLO, CA. We asked people to not take pictures of the old quilt on display. The reason at that time was that the flash from camera's will over time distort the fabric. Sometimes the artist does not want the quilt to be photographed because they don't want it duplicated.
