Featured Quilt - Take In a View of "Paradise"

Window to Paradise by Janine Judge was featured in the Naturescape category (Sponsored by The Warm Company) at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2025. With this quilt, Janine wanted you to, "Immerse yourself in the pristine beauty of Cierva Cove, Antarctica, where towering icebergs and sculptural arches from calving glaciers create a breathtaking world of raw power. Crunching through the brash ice in a kayak, awed by nature's force and beauty, this is my version of paradise, where nature reigns in all its icy splendour.”

Angie E. Knowles Demonstrates Color Block Printing

Discover a New Design Aesthetic Using Color Block Printing

When Angie E. Knowles needs a creative refresh, she turns to screen printing blocks of color. Learn how to create colorful silk screen designs using sheer poly fabric in our brand new show. She begins by assembling the silk screen, then moves on to mixing and preparing the paint, and offers tips for making stamps from EVA foam.

The fun continues as Angie demonstrates how to create overlaps and blend colors across the screen onto the fabric, while giving advice on preventing the colors from becoming muddy.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Living Off the "Vine"

"Flourish on the Vine" by Kathy K. Wylie

Flourish on the Vine is Kathy's favorite quilt. She loves the colors, the shapes, and the wrought iron design elements she created in her layout. She says, "For this heirloom-quality quilt, the vines and branches were inspired by wrought ironwork, and the bordering swags were imagined from festoons of fruit, as seen in Roman Empire temples." Kathy's quilt has won many awards, including the IQA Founders Award at the 2011 Quilts: A World of Beauty show and 1st Place, Wall Quilts - Home Machine Quilted at AQS QuiltWeek - Lancaster in 2013.
