Featured Quilt - Second Place Appliqué at Road to California 2024
You may have seen the quilts of Kyra Reps before, featuring hundreds if not thousands of meticulously appliquéd dots that create a stunning design that just needs to be seen to be believed. Her quilt that won at Road to California 2024, Pathfinder, is no different. Featuring 3,133 appliquéd dots on the front, with much more additional appliqué work done throughout the quilt, Kyra's quilt won Second Place in the Appliqué category at this year's show.
After gazing at this amazing quilt, don't forget to click the Quilt Video tab and watch a video of Kyra discussing all the work she put into this quilt, including over
180 HOURS of free-motion quilting on the back (because the back has to look as good as the front), with Lauren Sullivant on the floor of AQS QuiltWeek Daytona Beach where the quilt was also featured.

"Faith Alone" by Jerry Granata
Faith Alone was born out of an art quilt challenge that Jerry participated in while in an art group in Florida. The theme of the challenge was doors, and Jerry's photographer friend Ryan took a photo of an abandoned church in Canada over twenty-five years ago that he loved the texture of and decided to use as the inspiration for this quilt. Measuring 50" x 60", and machine quilted and hand-embroidered, the piece was Jerry's first foray into using unusual fabrics and materials.
