Featured Quilt - A Beautiful "Maze" To Get Lost In
Maze of Vines and Roses by Judy Garden was featured as part of the Appliqué category (Sponsored by The Quilt Show) at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2024. Like any good quilt worth making, Judy's took time and dedication, both to create and to get finished. Featuring an original design, "a stone step at a Charleston hotel inspired the vines on the quilt and beautiful fabric inspired the rest of the design."
Judy says, "I started this in 2018 after discovering the red and white fabric in a store in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The top border was done in a few months, and then it hung on my design wall for the next five years. I usually design from the center outward so this design process was a tough one, trying to make the center work with the border. After numerous drawings and a final push at the beginning of this year, I finally finished this well-loved quilt." |
