Featured Quilt - The "Journey" Towards Marital Bliss
Compass - Journey to Turkish Blue by Ishihara Kiyoko was featured as part of the Hand Crafted / Hand Made category (Sponsored by Flynn Quilt Frame Company) at the 2023 Houston International Quilt Festival. Ishihara was inspired to create this lovingly made hand pieced, hand appliquéd, hand embellished, hand embroidered, AND hand quilted quilt as a to celebrate the nuptials of her two sons. She says, "I made this quilt, Compass - Journey to Turkish Blue, in memory of the marriage of my sons. I think that life is like a wonderful voyage. I wish all my sons happiness in their future. I hope that my sons get over any difficulty by all means and advance toward their dreams with
their partners."

"Enjoyed the show. I just started into hand work, and I learn a few things from this show that will help me in my future projects." - MelBart
"When I learned to quilt it was done hand piecing and I just love hand work so will be doing this BOM by hand. So looking forward to it." - Lynn N.
