Featured Quilt - Triangles Wherever You Look
Rough Cut by Peter Hayward was featured in the Abstract category (Sponsored by Sew Steady) at the 2023 Houston International Quilt Festival. He says about how he made very geometrically inspired quilt, "I wanted to combine different triangular designs into shifting hexagons and create a constantly varying depth across the whole quilt. To achieve this, I played with ombre fabrics and juxtaposed primary colors, which progress logically around the center. The resulting variety of angular shapes appeared to me like a cross between a strained glass window and a multi-faceted but irregular diamond, whence the title was born."

"My Small World" by Jen Kingwell
Jen says she always learns something when she writes a pattern and with My Small World, the lesson was don't write cut 524 one-and-a-half inch squares on page one of the pattern, because people will pick that pattern up and put it down soon after seeing that. Jen made My Small World originally for one of Quiltmania's Spring edition magazines. It was heavily inspired by Mary Blair, a designer for Disney well known for working on It's a Small World, where the quilt takes its name from.
