Featured Quilt - Third Place Pictorial at Houston 2025

Spark Dancer by HsiI-Chen Hsu won Third Place - Pictorial (Sponsored by World of Quilts Travel) at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2025. HsiI-Chen says, "Depicting a Kinmen blacksmith forging steel amidst a burst of sparks, this piece symbolizes the fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary art, paying tribute to artisanal spirit and cultural heritage. Using mosaic patchwork and tonal separation, the work highlights the contrast between heat and focus. Each fabric piece mirrors every strike of the hammer—layering tradition, craftsmanship, and passion."
