Featured Quilt - Third Place Naturescape at Houston 2025

Awaiting for Spring won Third Place - Naturescape (Sponsored by The Warm Company) at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2025. Measuring 58" x 76", Hwa Kyung Lee's beautiful design featured hand and discharge dyeing, machine piecing, appliqué and couching.

Hwa Kyung Lee writes, "From the sight of old trees awaiting the upcoming spring, we see ourselves hoping for a brighter tomorrow. To portray the trees more vividly and three-dimensionally, I have bleached fabrics and applied couching techniques to add depth on top of them."
