Featured Quilt - First Place Large Quilts Movable Machine at AQS QuiltWeek Daytona Beach 2026
Peacock Hoedown by Laurie Tigner won First Place - Large Quilts - Movable Machine at AQS QuiltWeek - Daytona Beach 2026. Laurie says of making her quilt, "Of all the art forms I have pursued, quilting is the most gratifying. On this quilt, I set out to make a blue quilt and wanted to use my very favorite fabrics from my fabric stash. It made for a very bright center! Even though the hardest part was the hand couching, this was easily the most fun I've had while making any quilt so far!" |

Fanning The Flames of Fandom
Presented by the International Quilt Museum: "Kristin Barrus is an Academic Quiltmaker who examines the anthropology of quilts. Using the academic field of fan studies, she investigates the ways quiltmakers today embrace fan identities through their making and purchasing, as well as their organic membership in digital and in-person communities. Kristin shares the brief history of fan studies and why it matters, fandom in the quilt world today, and examples of fannish performance at events such as QuiltCon and in the commerce of women in quilt businesses."

The Quilt Show Puzzle: A "Gift" For You |
"The Gift I Share" by Carol Ann McCandless
The Gift I Share is one of Carol Ann's most recently finished quilts, and one she just loves. It was hand appliquéd and hand embroidered all around, which she says gives it that extra spice, and was finished, in her own words, by being "quilted to death". It was created using the quilt pattern Wrapt In Love by Esther Aliu.

What're You Having for Breakfast?
It's Sunday, and for most, that means a day of sleeping in, relaxing, and having a wonderful breakfast. PLUS, it's a new show day here at The Quilt Show, which we think pairs perfectly with one of our favorite breakfast treats, the donut (which were served a time or two while we taped these shows). So grab your breakfast of choice, settle in, and enjoy an all new episode of The Quilt Show today. And once you're done with that, perhaps a rerun of one of the almost 500 other shows we have available from which you can learn. |
