Lilo Bowman interviews textile artist Judith Ahlborn about her quilt, Sightseeing in New Orleans, at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2024. Judith talks about her process in the creation of the quilt.

Here's Judith's artist statement about her quilt:

"Inspired by my trip to New Orleans, I made this series of art pieces to remember my time there and celebrate in The Big Easy. Each scene is from a photo I took in the streets of this iconic city. i thought it would be nice to display them together as one unit. I sewed them to a backing fabric and created my New Orleans-style fleur de lis frames to finish them. Each piece shows a taste of New Orleans architecture”

Judith Ahlborn's quilt, Sightseeing in New Orleans, was on display at the 2024 Houston International Quilt Festival at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas from October 31, 2024 through November 3, 2024.
