The Quilt Show was in attendance at the Rim County Quilt Roundup show in Payson, AZ, last week and you'll never believe what we found. Not one, but TWO versions of our 2020 BOM, Afternoon Delight, designed by Sue Garman. Both quilts were award winners, with Jan Pederson's Afternoon Delight winning Third Place Mixed Technique, and Marilyn Giblin's Lockdown Afternoons winning Second Place Mixed Technique and the National Association of Certified Quilt Judges (NACQJ) Award of Merit For Outstanding Achievement in Quilting!
On her version of the BOM, Jan Pederson said, "Pattern presented by "The Quilt Show" in 2020. I used mostly batiks pulled from my stash." Jan's Afternoon Delight was both pieced and quilted by her and won Third Place in the Mixed Technique category.
Marilyn Giblin's Lockdown Afternoons was also a big award winner at the show, winning Second Place in the Mixed Technique category, a Judge's Choice Award, and was also awarded a prestigious National Association of Certified Quilt Judges (NACQJ) Award of Merit For Outstanding Achievement in Quilting.
Marilyn says of her work, "This time consuming project was the perfect choice for 2020. The quilt filled many, many afternoons. All fabrics came from my stash except the border. Applique is turned edge using the Appliquick techniques. Patterns by Sue Garman called "Afternoon Delight"."
