The Quilt Show Puzzle: "End Of The Spin" by Melissa Sobotka

Do a puzzle of Melissa Sobotka's quilt, End Of The Spin.

End of the Spin is based on a photograph that Melissa took in a really edgy dress shop in New York City. The front window of the shop was lined with sewing machines, which drew Melissa in thinking it was a quilt shop, but when she got in there she realized it wasn't and then noticed the empty spools lining the walls. This intrigued her and she decided to make a quilt from it. The quilt itself depicts the ends of the spools of yarn used for weaving the weft. As with many of Melissa's other quilts, it is another multiple award-winner, taking home Best of Show at AQS Lancaster 2016 and the Gammill Master Award for Contemporary Artistry at Houston 2015 amongst other awards.
