Show Your Colors: Stand Out From the Crowd was made for the Joann’s Quilt your Colors Contest in 2011, and Kris just liked the idea of a rainbow colored zebra. Kris says, "I wanted to do an African themed quilt with a twist, and I thought why not a non traditional zebra. I’m not real big on conformity and liked the idea of being yourself in your own way. The applique is all needle turned and then done on the machine with mono-filament. Extra details are added with the quilting such as the sun god, and if you look close, you can even find additional animals including a pride of lions."
