Featured Quilt - Happy Halloween!

One of the masters of miniature quilts, Aki Sakai, certainly loves to make quilts celebrating the holidays she loves. Having already featured quilts from her celebrating Christmas and Thanksgiving, today we bring you the second in her series of miniature Halloween quilts for the spookiest day of the year, Happy Halloween 2. Winning the Coats & Clark Best Wall Hand Workmanship Award at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2016 for this quilt, here's what Aki had to say about making it. "I like Halloween very much. I enjoyed Halloween when I lived in Ohio. This is my second Halloween quilt. I enjoyed making this quilt. I hope my quilts make people happy. Construction methods include hand appliqué, hand piecing and hand quilting."

Get Ready for the 2026 Block of the Month!

It's That Time of Year and Here is Just a Little Tease

The Quilt Show has been presenting a Block of the Month Quilt since 2007, AND they have won over 1000 ribbons for the makers in local and national shows. The BOM is always by a famous quilter and designer and includes a multitude of techniques to learn and practice, AND it also has videos by the creator and help from Barbara Black. You can also share your progress and ask questions in our forum. That's why we call it "The Quilt Show Block of the Month Experience".

All of this is included FREE with your Membership to TheQuiltShow.com. The membership is less than the price of the pattern and includes instant access to all of the episodes of The Quilt Show. To give you an idea about the BOM, take a look at Hint #1 about The Quilt Show's 2026 Block Of the Month.

There are two colorways for this year's BOM, Grandmother's Autumn and Granddaughter's Spring. If you purchased either of these kits, make sure to download the pattern that goes with the appropriate colorway as they do differ because of the fabrics being used. The Quilt Show Puzzle: Another Miniature Halloween Quilt

"Happy Halloween" by Pat Holly

What's better than one miniature Halloween quilt? How about TWO miniature quilts, with the second coming from one of the other masters of the miniature, Pat Holly. During Pat's most recent appearance on The Quilt Show she showcased her marvelous miniature quilts. While we got to see a few of them during the segment, one of them that you might have missed out on is just perfect for today, as it's called Happy Halloween!

Pat made the quilt as a gift for one of her quilting group friends who loves Halloween, and when she drew that friend's name from the gift exchange she just knew she had to make her a Halloween miniature. Measuring 12" x 12", Pat had so much fun making the quilt, including finding the Halloween themed fabric and cutting out the little motifs like the candy corn, black cats, pumpkins, and more.
