Featured Quilt - Third Place Improv at Road to California 2025
Destiny Calling by Carlton Brown won Third Place - Improv (Sponsored by Sewing Machines Plus) at Road to California 2025 and received an Honorable Mention in the Small Wall Quilts: Quilter’s Choice category (Sponsored by Koala Studios presented by Calico Country Sew & Vac) at AQS QuiltWeek - Paducah 2025. Carlton says of his work, and its very apropos title, "Making this abstract quilt demonstrated to me that my artistic destiny is calling. In it, I am expressing my passion for color and creating uniquely complex, improvisational pieced curves. Light and harmony play an important role here, creating depth and detail in the work."

The SAQA Benefit Auction Wraps Up This Weekend!
This online event supports the organization’s exhibition programs, publications, and education outreach. One of the quilts, X Marks the Spot, is by our own Alex Anderson.
Many of the art quilts are made by artists familiar to The Quilt Show, including Vicki Conley, Lisa Brehm Ellis, and Barbara Yates Beasley. Each 12" x 12" piece is an original work made by SAQA members from around the world. The result is an opportunity to acquire a work by a favorite artist or one who is new to you.
And now, many of the amazing quilts are available for just $100! This is your opportunity to own an original one-of-a-kind piece of artwork. |

"The Memories That Remain" by Lynn Czaban
The Memories That Remain is a dear quilt for Lynn, and one, like many of her quilts, that uses images from the Library of Congress as the source of inspiration for its subject. She created the gentleman first on an appliqué sheet, and then found a background to accompany it. The original image used a different background, so Lynn found one she thought was more fitting. Featured in many different shows, The Memories That Remain won Lynn a First Place ribbon in Pictorial Large category at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2022.
