It's a New Day and a Brand New Show with Karla Alexander and Ricky Tims!

Improv Your Way to Inspiring New Ideas

Alex and Ricky welcome back Karla Alexander to share her innovative ideas for modern quilting. Ricky kicks things off with his fast and fun 'Blink Block' improv technique using a slice, dice, and shift method. Karla follows with her smart approach to creating 'littles'—mini improv units made without paper piecing—and demystifies inset circles and arcs with confidence-building tips. She also offers practical tricks, like using Post-it notes as ruler guides and pressing on a towel for smoother, more beautiful results.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: When Spoken Words Are Not Enough

"Unspoken Thoughts: Love" by Beth Cunningham

Unspoken Thoughts: Love is a representation of the thoughts not spoken by women. The dress acts as the cover that contains all of the screams and things left unsaid that just want to be let out. Each expression stitched is one of love, and how Beth's daughter spoke of love, and this piece is Beth's way of expressing those thoughts when spoken words could not.
