Featured Quilt - Rowenta Viewers' Choice Award Large Quilt at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2026

A Calm Day At Sea by Linda Neal received the Rowenta Viewers' Choice Award - Large Quilt award AND Second Place - Wall Quilts - Movable Machine Quilted at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2026. Quilted by Jackie Brown, and using the Octopuses Garden pattern by Pearl P. Pereira of P3 Designs as her design source, Linda's quilt also took home First Place in the Appliqué earlier this year at Road to California.

Linda says of her quilt and how she was inspired to make it, "I have made several Baltimore Album-style quilts. I really liked the Octopuses Garden pattern but decided to change the position of the elements for my quilt. The center block is in a different location. I rounded the edges of eleven blocks, and the pelican block is on the pier above the water. For fun, I added the humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa fish (the state fish of Hawaii) in honor of my Hawaiian friend, Sharon. The original borders are now inside the quilt. I added a scalloped-edge border to represent the peaks and waves of the ocean."

Michelle Cain Demonstrates Chunky Stitch Binding

Add A Charming Binding Using This Chunky Technique

Michelle Cain shows how to add a touch of charm to a fully machine-made quilt with hand binding using chunky stitches and Jelly Roll strips in our brand new show. Working with 2½ inch strips, she guides you through creating a continuous binding, creating invisible stitches on the back, and adding decorative stitches at the corners to secure mitered edges.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Seeing "Double"

"Double Vision" by Louisa Smith

Double Vision is the very first quilt she made using her "Double Vision" quilting technique, which is why she titled it so appropriately. She considers it her trial piece for executing the concept.
