Featured Quilt - A Judge's Choice Winner at QuiltCon 2023

Peter Byrne was contacted by Benartex fabrics to redesign the traditional Spool block to make it modern. He created his quilt, Spool Dash, using the Colorweave collection from Benartex which has subtle prints that look like solids. He combined two quilting techniques, Matchstick quilting and Big Stitch, Slide quilting to create a unique texture on the quilt. Peter was happy with the result and so were the judges, who awarded him a fabulous ribbon at QuiltCon 2023.

Rhonda Denney Shows Off Pigment Patchwork

Put Those Pencils To The Paper and Create

Our latest show begins with Rhonda Denney showing how to use a dry pigment pencil to push color into fabric and with a tiny bit of water blend to create a softer look. She shares how you can embrace or control the wicking effect depending on your preference. We then look at how thread and various types of fiber can affect how the pigment will react.

Learn from Rhonda by watching her in Learn Pigment Patchwork and Stitching for Dimension with Rhonda Denney.

In Stock Now - Grid Gliders by Sew Steady

Grid Gliders Come in Two Sizes

The Grid Glider from Sew Steady creates a slick sewing surface to keep your fabric gliding smoothly toward your sewing machine needle. Our favorite feature, though, is that it has measurement marks, which allow you to align your fabric to a quarter inch seam line as it feeds into the machine.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Hip, Hip Hooray, and Whoopee!

"Whoopee" by Lynda Faires

A quilt with a bold graphic style, Whoopee by Lynda Faires isn't your typical crazy quilt. Whoopee is the first significant quilt in Lynda's history as a quilt artist. It was made in 1993 and has traveled extensively in the states and in Europe. It won a ribbon in Innovative Patchwork at Houston in 1993.
