Featured Quilt - Floral Inspiration Year-Round
All Year Round by Noriko Ito was featured in the In Full Bloom Exhibit (Sponsored by Brother) at the 2023 Houston International Quilt Festival. As you may have guessed from exhibit's title, it featured many florally inspired quilts and set out these guidelines for submission: "Just as quilters create beautiful pieces of art with fabric, florists and gardners cultivate works of beauty from the soil. This exhibit showcases floral quilts from across the spectrum in color and splendor in the special exhibit."
Noriko described her work pertaining to the theme as such. "For this quilt, I pieced together different shades of blue, my favorite color, and added twelve different flowers that bloom during each month of the year in my hometown in Japan."
