Featured Quilt - Best Sewing Machine Workmanship at Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival XXXIV 2023
October Standoff by Nancy Anne Hershberger won Best Sewing Machine Workmanship at the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival XXXIV 2023.
Nancy is a SAQA Juried Artist Member and she writes in her artist statement, "I am endlessly fascinated with the landscape. Observations soon became a lesson in how to look more closely at the rolling hills and how to interpret the results of this scrutiny in my work. Later, land became a metaphor and developed into an ongoing pursuit to interpret it." |

WeAllSew Tutorial: Patchwork Ghost Pillow

Don't Boooo Scared...
Corinne Sovey at WeAllSew is happy that it's almost spooky season. She designed this Patchwork Ghost Pillow for her own home décor and to add spooky flair to her house. She says that creating it is a "haunting good time".
The pillow works up quickly and you can really get creative with your decorative stitches to make different looks for different ghost pillows. They make great gifts for the Halloween fan in your life, or just make a bunch to sprinkle throughout the house!

"Zig Zag Logs" by Laura Nownes
Zig Zag Logs is a log cabin variation, but rather than attaching each one of the logs separately Laura joined the three strips together into a set first and then attached it to the center half-square triangle to speed up the process of creating each block.
See more of Laura's quilts in How to Make Tumbling Blocks,
Diamond Quilts, and Y-Seams with Laura Nownes.
