Featured Quilt - First Place Small Wall Quilts Quilter's Choice at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2026
Native Woman by Isabel Muñoz won First Place - Small Wall Quilts - Quilter's Choice (Sponsored by Koala Studios presented by Calico Country Sew & Vac) at AQS QuiltWeek - Paducah 2026. Isabel says, "This quilt was inspired by a photograph by Yulia Brodskaya, a renowned quilting paper artist. When I saw it, I asked myself what would happen if I tried to take it to my field and make a quilt. It was a magnificent opportunity, and this is the result - a colorful quilt in which the native woman transmits an incredible security and inner strength through her eyes...strength forged through generations that will be passed down to future generations."

"Circa 1870" by Michelle Cain
Michelle says of Circa 1870, "The inspiration for this quilt originated during a walk in the small New England town I call home. I saw some hexagonal siding shingles, bordered by elongated ones, on a house that was built in 1870 and decided to transform them into a quilt design. When set on an angle and rendered in a palette of periwinkle, gold, and salmon, the architectural details on that old house become distinctly modern—I love that!"
