Featured Quilt - From Creative Spark to Finished Quilt

Knotty but Nice by Marque McKay, and quilted by Karen Lambdin, won a Second Place award at the 2025 Dallas Quilt Show and was featured as part of the Machine Quilting category (Sponsored by BERNINA) at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2024. Explaining how their quilt was created Marque says, "In 2022, during a fit of boredom, a set of Celtic Knots disguised as Snowflakes danced into 14 EQ quilt squares on point and formed themselves into a quilt. It took all of 2023 for me to turn it into a finished product. In 2024, Queen Bee Karen Lambdin volunteered to quilt it, combining her choreography with mine. We are quietly proud."

Utilizing Fabrics From All Over the World

Lynette S. Warren begins her time on our new show by discussing what makes world fabrics distinctive, including how to stabilize and anchor bright, bold prints to give the eye a place to rest. Then, learn her method for hand-piecing the Key West block and achieving a perfectly aligned eight-pointed center.

Learn from Lynette, and Ricky Tims, by watching her in Working with World Fabrics and Hand Quilting with Lynette S. Warren | Ricky Tims’ Cheese and Crackers Quilt.
