Toshiko says about wanting to make this quilt, "It has been a long-time dream to create a quilt using the Double Wedding Ring block design. The 288 pieces are paper pieced. I think the floral appliqués in the center are beautiful. I am currently learning ruler work and created a quilting design that makes use of the Double Wedding Ring motif."

Dolce & Gabbana Taormina 2026: Alta Moda Collection

"More Than A Simple Garment, It Is A Three-Dimensional Canvas"

From Dolce & Gabbana: "Inspired by the vibrant Sicily’s blooms, Dolce & Gabbana's Alta Moda creations perfectly reflect Radicepura botanical gardens. The décolleté dress becomes a structured living bouquet thanks to the intricate technique of micro-draped inlay work. Countless featherlight strips of silk chiffon are expertly guided, folded and secured by hand, tracing the hidden anatomy of flowers. Petals and leaves hold a symphony of tonal nuances, creating a painterly effect of extraordinary realism."

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Poppies Popping Up All Over The Place

"California Poppies #4" by Tina Curran

The California Poppy is the state flower, and every spring the hills are covered with them, which is called a super bloom. Tina wanted to capture the idea in a quilt, and used small, medium, and large sized poppies to create perspective in her piece, California Poppies #4. It's made using four panels, which means you can make it wider or narrower if you so choose.
