Featured Quilt - Second Place Pictorial-Large at Houston 2023
Something About Succulents by Cynthia England won Second Place in the Pictorial-Large category (Sponsored by World of Quilts Travel) at the 2023 Houston International Quilt Festival. Like with many quilts, it was created by Cynthia to keep sane during a time of great confusion.
She says, "This was made during the pandemic to keep me sane. I used a palette of 160 fabrics and approximately 18,500 individual pattern pieces. It was machine pieced using the technique I developed. It is not paper pieced, and there is no fusing. There is a honey bee amid the leaves on the left side."
