Featured Quilt - A Watercolor Inspired Wonder

Hoku Anuenue by Arleen Kukua was featured in the Innovative category at the 2021 Pacific International Quilt Festival. Arleen's work was inspired by a colorful collection of fabrics from Hoffman. She says, "The Hoffman 1895 Watercolor panel was the inspiration for Hoku Anuenue or Rainbow Stars. After cutting the diamonds from the panel, they were arranged into stars. I followed the colors on the panel to make the rainbow."

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Tina's Take on Lucy

"Little Lucy" by Tina Craig

Lucy Boston designed a quilt called Patchwork of the Crosses, and Tina's quilt entitled Little Lucy is her interpretation of Lucy's original. While Lucy's is bed-sized, Tina's is not. Tina hand pieced the blocks English Paper Piecing style on a long trip to Tanzania, and machine quilted it on her domestic machine.
