Name of Maker: Debra Ann Christian

For years, I have been planning to do a landscape quilt and have spent a lot of time collecting the fabrics, as well as learning techniques from various quilters.  When I found one of my Dad's paintings after he passed away, I immediately knew this was the inspiration for my first landscape quilt.

Name of Maker: Milja Samila

From my own photographs of birds living in my neighbourhood in Helsinki, Finland I free motion embroidered blocks on white cotton.  Sewed them together and free motion quilted heavily around.  Since there is no quilting on the birds they rise up brom the background.  Cotton batting and backing.   For this quilt I used nine of my embroidered bird.

Yankee Puzzle Twisted
Name of Maker: Dianne Brown Cannestra
Yankee Puzzle Twisted - 29 of 30 blocks were made by unknow quilter most likely in the 1960s in Fort Worth, Texas and given to my grandmother, Rose Strnad to finish. She never did. My mother, Anne Brown, gave them to me. The blocks were not uniform sizes so used Twist and Turn technique.
Yakima Rose
Name of Maker: Lynn Stover
Yakima Rose - This quilt was largely inspired by Sharon Pederson's The Rose of Sharon Block Book. Designs were also influenced or adapted from Annie Smith's the Ultimate Appllique Guidebook, Barbara Brackman's Encyclopedia of Applique, Elly Sienkkiewicz's Baltimore Elegance and from the EQ Six collection of blocks.
