Description:
Jinny completed Ray of Light in October 1977. It is one of her India-inspired designs and is hand pieced and hand quilted made with American and Indian fabrics. Ray of Light was entered in Good Housekeeping magazine's 1977 quilt contest and took the grand prize of $2,500. As the winner of the Good Housekeeping and U.S. Historical Society contest, “The Great American Quilt”, Jinny was launched on her quilting career. The Hindi translation of "Ray of Light" is Kiran, which is also the name of Jinny's daughter.
