Description:
My Favorite Things by Hiroko Miyama and Masanobu Miyama won Second Place - Wall Quilt: Quilter’s Choice (Sponsored by Elna USA) at AQS QuiltWeek – Paducah 2025. The subject of the quilt is Hiroko's granddaughter, and the title comes from the fact that the quilt features all of her granddaughter's favorite things. Such things include caterpillars, butterflies, mushrooms, and Hiroko's three dogs, who are also stars of the quilt. My Favorite Things also contains Hiroko's first use of needle punch in one of her competition quilts, which she used to create the three-dimensional effects on the mushrooms and beetles. The quilt also took home awards for Best Wall Quilt at AQS QuiltWeek - Branson 2025 and an Honorable Mention in the Wall Quilts: Fiber Art / Mixed Media at AQS QuiltWeek - Daytona Beach 2025.
