Description:
Artist Statement: "This star quilt, based on an eleven-sided polygon (called a hendecagon), features thousands of diamond shapes within the star, borders, and quilting motifs. Altogether, these elements made a balanced design. Many years of designing, learning techniques, construction, and quilting (amongst many of life’s interruptions) went into this quilt. An extension of a previous project, the 1010-piece quilt came together after designing the pattern and quilting motifs to fit neatly in intended spaces. Completing this gave a particular feeling of pride and satisfaction."
Quilting Method: Movable Machine
Quilting Techniques: Appliqué (Hand), Fabric Dyeing, Fabric Painting, Piecing (Foundation), Piecing (Hand), Piecing (Machine), Quilting (Computer-Assisted)
Quilted By: Nancy Bieber
