Pets, like our dog Pippin, enrich our lives and are good for you, fitting the theme of the exhibit that

inspired the making of this quilt. She did not fit any recognized breed, though was plainly satisfied to be

labeled a "dixie dingo", a mix of the wild dog of the Americas. As an homage to the dingo reference, her

portrait was created using only fabrics with Australian Aboriginal designs. Sitting in the sun, in her very lady-like way,

was a favorite activity of hers, inspiring us to be happy with who and where we are.
