Artist Statement: "This is a classic view of the Seattle skyline from Kerry Park on Queen Anne Hill; a dark and moody night filled with the iconic buildings downtown. I wove satin ribbon through striped and solid fabric to achieve the small windows, and a tiny red French knot on top of the Space Needle."
Techniques: Hand Embroidery and Embellishment; Machine Appliqué, Piecing, and Quilting
Design Source: Inspired by the Seattle skyline
About the Tactile Architecture Exhibit: "Buildings have a long history of inspiring the creative designs of quiltmakers. In the 19th century, American quilters developed classic architectural blocks and patterns such as Log Cabin, Schoolhouse, and Brick Wall. This annual juried exhibit challenges quiltmakers to create works based on architectural themes and inspirations in any style."
