"A Paradise of Birds" by Lorraine Stenoish won First Place in the Small Wall Quilts: Movable Machine Quilted category (Sponsored by American Professional Quilting System) at AQS QuiltWeek – Paducah 2025. Quilted by Wendy Fuller, Lorraine's quilt takes its inspiration from the pattern "A Paradise of Birds", designed by friend of The Quilt Show, Irene Blanck. Irene designed our 2022 Block Of the Month, "Garden Party Down Under". Lorraine brings the titular birds of her quilt to life through a combination of hand appliqué and spectacular free-motion quilting.
