As you might recall, I was away all of July and couldn't work on the block. Last night I got the pieces all ironed down and I'm ready to start the satin stitching. Cutting out all those pieces was quite tedious and aggravated the tendonitis that was healing so well. No matter how much work or discomfort, I'm enjoying this project.
Thanks for the welcome....I'm just figuring out how this forum works! I've been quilting for about two years, and have really fallen in love with it. I started the BOM more as a skill builder than anything else, but have found that I really like applique. I live an hour north of NYC so I'm able to work on my applique on my commute. It really makes the time fly. I don't envy your 12 HOUR shift......hope you have/had a good day!
Hey: I'm still working on July! But it's coming along....if all goes well, i might catch up and finish August by end of August.....not bad considering I didn't start work on January til April!!!!
I've really enjoyed working on this BOM my first!
Maggie, Enjoyed your comments soooo much! Thanks for sharing your block changes. I have my pattern printed and fabric picked out and hope to start on the process tomorrow since I am up so late it is already the 4th. So later in the day today or tomorrow for sure.
Happy 4th to all! (I love reading all the comments)
i debated whether to go and find a bunch of buttons....then thought don't do it, it won't match the other blocks! I am one of the 15 1/2 blk people, sigh.....so I freaked when I printed this one out and looked at the teeeeeeeny circles. So, I have gone back and printed this one out at the correct size. the vase is small on this one, so i think I can pull it off and it won't be too noticeable.
We are headed to our rustic cabin this weekend, no electricity, running water, etc. So will try to relax and cut and cut and cut.........
