All this to say that I'm back!! I can get back on the DJ wagon!!!

I'm glad you are back. I hope Keri has a speedy recovery and you can have a little downtime to just sit and enjoy.

I think you will like doing DJ with templates much better. It definately is more relaxing for me and I have much more control or at least I feel like I do.

Your poor daughter Eileen, hope she recovers well and soon.

I only started my DJ recently and A1 was the first block I tried...it almost put me off the whole thing. I did it with paper piecing and it came out lumpy as anything, didn't like it at all. I've been doing a few applique ones and another one I cut out the templates and sewed it by hand and one I did yesterday I used Inklingo triangles and sewed by machine. I've made 7 blocks altogether now and am really enjoying them - I think it's going to be a bit addictive for a while

Hello, everyone. Just wanted to let you all know that I am ready to put row (C) unto rows (A-B). It will take me a bit as I am working on the BOM. and have 3 quilts to bind, so have been working on all of them a bit at the time. So I have 39 DJ blocks done and 12 border triangles, as I am doing them too. (4 blocks, 1 triangle) that way I do not have to make all the triangles at the end.

Margarita -- you are really coming along with your DJ. Smart girl to do triangles along the way, not like I did and they nearly made me stop, but I persevered.

I was looking in my stash for another project and found some really great blue FQs. I can't decide if I want to put some orange in some blocks or not. I can't help but think it would add a spark. Like the pinwheel in A1.
              What do you all think?

I think it would definitely add some spark, but a little goes a long way.

I am about to start on my first DJ block.

I have the book, the CD and the rulers. I have bought the background fabric - I nice off-while muslin. And I have decided on a colour schemestyle. I have a few fabrics so I can start but I'll need to collect more.

I am going to do mine 'trip around the world' style.

I just need to learn how to applique. Anyone know any good tutorials?

Margarita that is awesome. I suppose I should post a picture of my completed Dear Jane. It did turn out very nice, if I do say so.

I am just beginning Dear Jane and have completed about 7 blocks. I meet with a group once a month and we are supposed to bring 5 completed blocks to the meeting for show and tell. I need to increase the amount or it will take years to finish and I truly don't want it to take that long.
