    Finished quilt question

Just machine quilted my first queen size on my my Q24. Yay! Anyway, my question is : Is it normal to lose 4 inches on the quilt width and length after it is all quilted? I don't have any puckering so just wanted to see if this is something to expect. Thanks! By the way my avatar is wrong. I don't know why I cannot change it to a female or my photo? Does it even say who I am? Lots of questions I suppose.

Stephanie F. I thought I would wait to see if a longarm quilter answered your question, but I have had quilts shrink that much
when they have a lot of dense quilting. My Judy Neimeyer Glacier Star shrunk that much. They shrink a lot less if you are just
doing some stitch in the ditch or large meandering. It is important that the quilting is about the same density thru out the quilt
if you want it to lay nice. I see you have your picture by your name so you must have figured out the avatar thing. Would love to see a
picture of your first queen size quilt you did on your Q24. HelenW

Helen, I feel terrible I just read this. Hubs has been going through the bone marrow transplant journey and we've been away from home since Oct. 3. Living in St. Louis currently until mid-January. But here is the finished quilt and my client was super happy with it. I guess I won't send finished measurements ahead or else I'll give 'tentative' measurements. haha
Hope you have a wonderful holiday season!
