So, correct me if I'm wrong -- we don't have to have a quilt (or top) in the prototype book in order to have one in the finished book? I'm busily at work on my quilt...it won't be done by September, but will be by January!

I finally got this computer fixed what a heart breaking month this is so far. What a great idea for the book, I will try to have my friendship quilt finished for the deadlines. A very special quilting sister lost her battle with cancer this month and I am having such a hard time with it. Soon I will only think of the good times we had but for a little time I am feeling the loss. Without my computer I have not had my SOTT sisters either, maybe now I will not feel so alone. I haven't had a moment to think about what I want to do with my beautiful strips, I really like what is sometimes called Chinese coins, I am sure I will find something. Thank you sisters for being here. Joan

Joan, I am sorry to hear about the loss of your good friend. I hope that your quilt projects will help you get through the more difficult times.

I haven't started either my HST quilt or my Strip quilt, so maybe we can challenge each other to get them finished.

Huge hugs...

Carol,

You are wonderful to take on this project. It will be a wonderful want to document all three of our Exchanges. Thank you and I will be happy to help you in any way that I can, so please don't hesitate to let me know.

Joan, I am so very sorry. I don't know exactly how you feel, but I do know what you are going through. I lost one of my best friends to colon cancer last October. She was only 47. I cried a lot of tears and was sad for days. Michelle was a great person. She would not want me to be sad. One of her best character traits was her cheerfulness and kindness. So Michelle lives in my memory and I will always have fond memories of the times we had together. Time will never heal all the hurt we feel in our hearts when we lose a best friend, but as time goes on it really makes us realize to never take things for granted. Life is just so short. Enjoy every moment of every day. I look forward to seeing your Chinese Coins creation. We are all SOTTT sisters with a common bond. It will be fun to share with each other our creations, laugh and cry with each other in good times and bad, and to share our dreams with each other. I hope you will find comfort knowing there is a big community here that really cares. Take care!!!

Joan, I am sorry for your loss. It is good that will have many happy memories to treasure in the future, when some of the pain eases. Know that we are here for you. I will keep you in my prayers.

Barb: sooooo cool 8) what a fab idea - thanks for getting it organized
that means my strips are coming to the office with me - so i can sew during lunch...
as i've decided this to be an on-the-go quilt with most of the sewing being done by hand ... hope to get done by the deadline

To Snowladyns- Thank you for sharing your heartache with us. I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say our best thoughts, wishes and prayers are with you. It is so hard to go through such a loss. That's what friends are for - sharing the good times and the bad. Take your time, be easy on yourself and remember to live up to your pace, your hopes and dreams, not someone else's ideas for you, or the pace you should take. Let your quilting be a pleasant distraction for you.
All the best,
Terrie

Joan: my sincere condolences - wishing you strength - as you say there will be a time when you'll remeber the good times and enjoy those memories - for now, give the healing the time it needs
know that your TQS sisters are with you

I plan to have a quilt using the strips from our Sensational Strippers exchange ready for the prototype deadline.

This is a great idea and I hope you all will participate.

Am I correct that for the September prototype, it's only finished quilts and not tops too?

Patti

Patti, for the September prototype, Carol would love to have pictures of tops, if that's all you have done by that time.
Be sure to include your written info for the prototype as well as photos!

Hopefully the quilting can be completed by the January 1 deadline and you can include new photos of the top and show the quilting!
