Join us on a TQS exclusive 12-month historic journey recreating the historic Rajah Quilt, sewn by women convicts on board the ship Rajah traveling from England on April 1841 to the penal colony of Van Diemen's Land-now known as Tasmania. The original quilt measured at approximately 128" x 128", but Lessa recreated it in quarter scale with fabrics from her stash. She used many different scraps, imagining that's what might have happened when the original quilt was being made. She followed the colors of the original quilt loosely, and tea dyed fabrics that didn't look old enough. You can obtain the same look with reproduction fabrics, or make a more contemporary-looking version like the one created for TQS.

Thank you all for your input I liked the sewn in block best too but I guess I was second guessing myself. I will stay with the finished block.
Every one's quilts look so beautiful and colorful. I can hardly wait to see what they all look like when the year is finished.

What the others say, I prefer the blue over the bright green, as it echoes the earlier corners.

The blue works best for me, too, although I studied it back and forth for quite some time!

Here is my month 5- Kaffe Fassett fabrics- using my extensive stash and loosely following the color scheme of the example online.
Measurement 34.5". Think I'm getting the hang of foundation piecing and joining the points.
I may have mentioned previously, but will again- the Loc-Bloc 2.5 square has been invaluable for squaring up my finished blocks. With more to come for several more rows, it is well worth the price.
Nice job Valerie!
