Barbara, Did you find an alternate block for 2 or are you still looking? I saw a bow tie block that might look good with block 1.
If you have found something let me know, and I won't post any other ideas. HelenW

I did watch it and it was helpful. I am working on glue basting gentle curves and also trying to find an alternative block as an option. Time will tell.

    Barbara,
The quilt in the blog today called Flying In Circles made me think, "Boy, that quilt has a lot of curves" and so beautifully
done. I googled the maker and then came across the website Zen Chic. There I found a video on machine piecing curves
and in the middle of the video she does one that is somewhat similar to pick a petal in the way she approaches the way she
stitches the curves into a block. Anyway, if you are still looking for a way to machine piece that block 2 you might watch the
10 minute video to see if it gives you some new ideas. HelenW

Thank you Monique G, I usually don't follow directions very well and just make it up as I go. I enjoy
helping other quilters. Once you get 25 or 30 years experience, it seems a whole lot easier
to see possibilities when a problem comes up. And now that I have learned how to use
EQ8 I can figure out most problems without having to use my pencil and graph paper.
I just have fun doing it all.

Thank you everyone for your input. I have been doing a lot thinking about (and cutting/pasting) and I am still undecided. It seems that this quilt is going to be - as my grandma would have said - "fiddly", so it would be a lot of extra work to enlarge it. My original idea was to put it on my queen sized bed, but I am not so sure that this is the right quilt for my bed. My husband (6'3" and 240 lbs) isn't always delicate with things and I won't want to put it on my bed if I put that much work into it.

Also, I am currently working on a Jen Kingwell quilt that will be done in the next couple of months (it will be my first quilt for a show). I have decided not to make a decision right now and see how it goes for the first few months of this BOM.

Thank you Helen! I had planned on doing the same thing - old school copy and paste - but this last week really got away from me. I am thinking about the 88 x 88 square because my first instinct is to keep it close to the original pattern/design. However, it does bother me that there are an even number of squares in each border and the corners are NOT all the same block. I am still not sure exactly what I am going to do yet.

As the excitement builds about Jen Kingwell's Pick a Petal, I found a you tube video where Jen tells
how she picks fabrics for a quilt. I thought it was very insightful. It is on the modafabricss you tube channel.
I took a screen shot so you could google it if you are interested. HelenW

DM me if you'd like some thoughts!

I've hand-pieced Wandering Wife, Golden Days, Bowie Stars, about 1/3 of Caution Curves Ahead (working through that one), and a bunch of Glitter blocks. Also I lead the Jen Kingwell club at my LQS.
Great, Sonia. I am open to all suggestions for hand piecing that block. Tell us all about it, I will start a new TOPIC for that block.
