Despite there is more than a foot of snow on the ground, temp. is about 10 degrees, and more snow in the forecast, I figure it
is not to early to start my Garden Party. Plan to use a bunch of garden pattern parts to make it my Idaho Garden Party. Working
on a little frog right now. Probably won't be any vases in my garden. Looking forward to learning some new applique techniques and seeing all the wonderful quilts that will be made with this BOM.

Me too! No vases but I’m going to just work in blue and white as the vases reminded me of Deft pottery designs. I shall use the patterns but adapt them for my quilt and hand appliqué.
      Happy New year to everyone!

Way to go HelenW. I will wait til January. And maybe get to it by the 2nd week as I am of the slow starter. I want to read and view all there is on the site before I start this one.

Margaret, I like combining a number of patterns into one quilt, so I have been thinking about it since it was first announced.
Your plan to read and review all the info is a smart strategy. You will get so many great ideas from all the TQS members. I always tend to veer off in a different direction just by what I am learning. It is all so much fun!!! HelenW

This is not a picture of progress, just a suggestion for people wanting to reverse the images easily before printing on
Print and Fuse light. If you print a copy on vellum, you can see thru it. That means you can lay the reverse image facing
the glass on your printer and it will give you a reverse image on your print out. HelenW

Brilliant, I was trying to figure out an easy way to do this. Sometimes the obvious is the hardest to see.
            THANKS!! Martha E.

Carole B. Picture number 2 of my Garden Party that will be made up of many patterns of my favorite applique designers.
The picture of the odd shaped scraps is what I am doing to audition thread colors for the fabrics I used in the block. I am
doing raw edge fusible using Steam A Seam light. I don't have 7 years to do turned edge on all these tiny pieces. Sure having fun!

I have two days into Month One. Lots of loose stems still but my vase is done. I am doing it raw edge appliqué using a blanket stitch on my Bernina 2.0 by 2.0 stitch 1329. All going well thus far, but one has to be careful. Lots of overlays, I already have one I missed, but found an alternative solution. If I don't tell anyone once all is done, maybe no one will ever notice.

Donna, did you trim out the center of the fusible on the vase? Which one are you using?

Good job, Donna! No one will know you made “design decisions “ that will make this quilt your own.

I mentioned in one of the blogs and the Live broadcast December 27 about missing that 3 leaves go under two stems and I had to fix that.

Yes Eileen I do cut out the centers of all my fusible, for sure the face. Even those small leaves and flowers only have about 1/4 inch fusible on them. Just enough to sew a very small blanket stitch with fusible under it.

Pretty much following the pattern, but mine will be super scrappy from my stash. Except for the stems, all of the appliqué is prepped with turned edges for machine appliqué.

Stems ready and auditioning my berries. This is a kaffe from my stash. I wanted a little brighter orange than was in the kit. Such fun!

I forgot to mention that when I made my stems, I stiffened the fabric with terial magic first, then used the bias maker. They turned out beautiful.

How did you soften them after using the terial magic? My fabric comes out like paper when I use it.
