The only thing I had really had on my list for 2009 was to get my monster bargello quilted. There is a pic of the top in my profile. I finally bit the bullet and handed it over to a professional! Now I have two more quilts on my list-not counting the 2009 BOM. I'm going to make a artsy quilt for my FIL's soon-to-be-wife, and a snuggle quilt for her grandson that she has custody of. By March 14th. No problem!

I chose a focus word for the year and that is "creative". I want to be more creative in my quilting and make more time for art quilts that I love!

But also more creative in caring for my men (dh & ds)... cooking more variety, housekeeping, etc. Being a better wife....

I quit buying much fabric & quilting in 08 and that will continue. (once I decided on what to do for the BOM!) I have so many tops to quilt. I need my place for basting cleaned up and used!!

          My resolutions:
          1. Shop from my stash first. I always tend to go out and look for all new fabric for a new project - so many pretty fabrics!! Then I end up picking up one or two extra cuts that go into my stash never to be seen again. MUST SHOP STASH!!!

          2. Quilt at least 1/4 of my tops - and in the mean time build up my quilting expertise. I think I have at least a dozen hanging over my banister and my frame is lonely.

          3. Finish at least 1 of my 2 UFO's (really! I only have 2!!). I know I'll be able to finish one of them... not sure if I have the energy to commit to the second one.

            First post here! Woowoo!

            My 2009 Quilting Resolutions:

            1. Finish more quilts than I start.
            2. Use my stash as much as possible (recognizing that sometimes I'll need to purchase to have enough for borders and backing).
            3. Paint or otherwise embellish more quilts than I don't.

I'd also like to try to do a small journal quilt (8.5x11) every month. I guess I'd better start January's, huh? LOL

I've decided I have to quilt/sew something every day. I will allow that reading a quilting magazine counts too, and reorganizing my stash should count too. hehe
I have a list of projects that I must finish, but I am allowing myself to start new projects, but have to check off an old one first. LOL I will probably break that one! Sandi in FL

My resolution is to actually make the BOM for 2009. Maybe i'll get ambitious and also made the 2008 along with it. Cheryl

I buy the borders first cause once a fabric is GONE IT IS GONE !! It is easier to find small amounts that match up to the borders then it is to find borders that match your vision.

                    MY RESOLUTIONS:

                    1. Finishing those 6-7 quilts that just miss the binding

                    2. Do the free motion on the 3 queensized quilttops thats already done..

                    3. Enter the hand applique world (will be hard as my thumbs move to the palm of my and as soon I have to handstitch)

                    4. Smile every day (that aint a hard one)

                    5. Say something nice to other people as often as I can (going for several times a day)
