dark fabrics. It really makes the color of the threads pop. Your piece is exactly the type I was envisioning when Alex started
this project. I was originally going to go with Kona jet black fabric, but ended up doing grays with black silhouettes. The
hexagon shape really adds some interest. Love the thread color selection and the stitch combos you used. Absolutely fabulous.

Blanket stitch on a piece of Annies soft n stable to raise it up like trapunto. I made a circle, did the green blanket stitch and knots, then cut a circle of Annies soft and stable. Put a little glue on it to hold my black stitched piece, and needle turn stitch it to the background. Then put a purple blanket stitch on. Everything is a little crude looking, but I am just trying new ideas to use in the future. Having fun, that is for sure. Thank you Alex. You are the best!!! HelenW

Working on the embroidery before I turn off my light as Christmas Day comes to a close. Pieced my background with Moda Grunge cottons, sandwiched with light batting, and more Grunge on the back. Circles and curves are made with bottle caps and round lids. Learning many new stitches on this layered embroidery. Very relaxing to embroider as improv! This week my granddaughter, Kayleigh, 5, is visiting and sleeping in my sewing room. We may work on a doll blanket together. Lots to do since I haven't seen her for 2 years, due to the pandemic. She is visiting Maryland from where they live in Minnesota. Making up for 2 years' worth of missed hugs and kisses too! Merry Christmas to All!!!
