HHMMM............ While the guys are working on the set,.....I wonder how long before Ricky will notice that slowly but surely my office area is growing?

179_523815.jpg Right at this moment I am sitting at Ricky's left hand side working on voice overs. A voice over are the words you hear when a show airs a field piece, a sort of narration to the story line. When "piecing" these segments together, everything has to be synched to fit with perfect timing. Thank goodness Ricky has his new control room (he called me from my office to join him).

Along with all the technical stuff, the set is coming into the studio piece by piece, literally. Here is Ricky fitting our Quilt Show Demo table into one unit. Come to think of it, this whole endevor is like making a quilt. Many pieces joined as one, making a comfortable place to be in.

I'll keep you updated as much as I can................

I love it here at Tims Art Quilt Studio and Gallery and was very excited knowing where my home would be for the next few weeks. Ok, my needs are simple, but when I saw Ricky's work space the green eyed monster kicked in. He has all sorts of bells and whistles to play with at his new work station / control room / editing suite.178_980496.jpg

Being resourceful in nature, I decided to get to work and secure MY space. I innocently asked Ricky to help me move a table into the corner of the room to put my laptop on. Quickly while all backs were turned, carpet was installed, invisible walls were built and my work area was defined. "Justin, you want receipts? Just check the in box."

I need to get to work before I get fired.

Last night I flew into La Veta, CO and was welcomed warmly by Ricky and Justin . The countdown is here for the first set of show tapings. To say we are excited is the understatement! Upon arrival, what did we do? We went SHOPPING! Prior to my arrival, Justin had picked out and purchased furniture for the set. What he choose is very unusual, colorful and perfect for our vision. Now it was time to purchase the "fun stuff". Off we went to a HUGE furniture / home dec store. I have never seen anythig like it before. Because we want the set to be young and fresh looking and not the "quilterly look" we are all so familiar with, the hunt for the unusul began. One particular lamp struck my fancy. Perhaps because it reminds me of some pedal pushers I once owned. I am not trying to scare you, I do have excellent taste, but it is a new day and changes are in store. Are you ready?

You people are the best! Because of your "heads up" it has come to my attention that my personal site www.alexandersonquilts.com is in need of TLC. My beloved webmaster Matt is going to try to make the upgrades and transitions as painless as possible (evening work), and hopefully in a week all will be A-OK. Thanks for covering my back.

The Home Machine Quilting Show (HMQS) is pleased to announce that the award-winning musical group, Joshua Creek, will perform an exclusive concert for show attendees on Saturday, April 21st at 12:30 p.m. on the Handi Quilter main stage. HMQS attendees will have the fantastic opportunity to hear Joshua Creek live as part of their regular show admission.

Joshua Creek is sure to be one of the highlights for HMQS attendees! Pearl Award finalists, Quint Randle and Jeff Hinton, have been writing songs together for nearly six years and have numerous songs published by Nashville and L.A. - based publishers. They've garnered movie soundtrack credits and cuts by other inspirational artists, including the #1 hit, "I Love You, Son" for Christian country artist, Jackie Cox. In 2004, the duo received an honorable mention for their song, "Everything I Need", in the Nashville Song Search contest. Their debut album "Joshua Creek" CD was named 1st Runner Up for album of the month by Powersource magazine, in which country superstar, Alan Jackson, recieved top honors.

In 2005, Quint and Jeff signed a recording contract with Covenant Communications for their inspirational band, Joshua Creek. The group plays a unique blend of country-esque music and inspirational lyrics of faith and family. Most well known to the public is their hit song, "Marry You Again", which is frequently requested and played on local radio stations. The Deseret Morning News calls Joshua Creek's debut CD "the perfect chill album". To hear a sample of Joshua Creek's songs, go to www.joshuacreekmusic.com

The count down for taping our first episodes of The Quilt Show is around the corner. As you can imagine we are filled with many emotions, all good! On the shows, both Ricky and I will have opportunity to answer questions - to be exact, YOUR questions. Between the two of us, we have a solid background in quilting and we want to help YOU! I can't promise we will get to all of them, but let the games begin by posting your questions right here in Blog Land. We look forward to hearing from you!
