It's all about the eyes when Alethea uses the "Ghastlies" fabric to create this rather unusual quilt, The Strangest Vase That Ever Was.

When someone mentions a Singer Roadster, they are usually talking about the car you see pictured below. However, we found a photo of an usual Singer Roadster that might just have a different meaning for a quilter. Take a look at the second car below. How would like to hit the fabric shop in that car?

The Wooly Betty

We have always loved Steady Betty ironing mats that keep your fabrics secure and flat while ironing. Now they have combined their knowledge of mats with the newest craze of wooly mats. We finally got our ration, as these are homemade and wonderful. Don't delay in making an order and here is a great way to use your 25% coupon for purchasing a 1 yr membership.

"A two-sided pressing mat with a wool side for even heat transfer and a foam side to grip your fabric and keep it from moving or distorting while you press. In between the two is a unique core that minimizes the heat passing through.

This is a great portable pressing mat for bringing classes and retreats, and the two sides make it twice as useful.

  • Works for all fabrics including cotton, wool, and silk
  • Works with all home irons on any heat setting
  • Absorbs heat and becomes very hot on the wool side, stays cooler on the foam side

The Mermaid's Laundry is Alethea's brother's favorite quilt. It probably isn't that hard to see why. What exactly does a mermaid have to hang on a laundry line anyway?

The Quilt Show wants to introduce Cindy Seitz-Krug, a machine quilter for almost thirty years, who shares her approach to quilting designs that are grid based with techniques that are great for whole cloth quilts and easily adapted for patchwork quilts. Also in this show, Ricky shares tips for adding machine quilted lettering to your quilts.

Watch Cindy in Show 2603, when it debuts Sunday, January 26, 2020.

"Have a peek into my first week of my 8 week journey out west. Then view a tutorial on a tiny little art piece called Lil' Airstream (See below video). Limited kits are available on my Etsy store at AnnMyhreDesigns, more to come when I get back to Denver in March. Or, as always, you can use up bits of this and that!"

Spring Is in the Air by Noriko Nozawa was created using a number of different techniques including cross-stitch and a 'lace-like' embroidery on the border that almost makes it look like a delicate handkerchief. Take a look at all the details. There are close-ups galore.

Spring Is in the Air won First Place, Alternative Techniques, sponsored by Madeira Thread, at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2019.
