Into The Woods features many needle felted trees, a technique that Charlotte was very keen on incorporating into her work at the time when she made this quilt. The top part of the background is reverse appliqué, while the bottom part is pieced. Even more impressive, Charlotte's quilt uses wool yarn that she spun herself that is used along the edge of the appliqué giving it more dimension.
