Description:
This quilt began with four wonky log cabin squares I made on a visit to my sister in 2022, also a quilter. Later at home, I began piecing a blue background to put a dent in my stash of blue fabric scraps. Placing the squares on point added more interest and the salmon piping helped unify the quilt by bringing the eye from the center square all the way out to the border. Because the blocks were not exactly square, the swoopy border on the diamond worked well. The quilting was done with my domestic machine on a Grace Cutie frame. The back was pieced with large rectangles of blue fabric placed diagonally, echoing the scrappy theme on the front.
