Description:
Artist Statement: "Bridgeport, California is famous for the longest single span covered bridge, used during gold mining days for wagons and stagecoaches in the 1850's-60's. It is a state and national historical landmark 229 feet long over the Yuba River which is perfect for swimming. Photographer Julie Nielsen too this photo. It is 100% needle turned applique and hand quilted. I used embroidery floss, silk ribbon, Tsukineko inks and chalk pastels for embellishment. It took one year to complete."
