Description:
Artist Statement: "Early on, I decided I wanted some order tather than just a collection of colours. To achieve this I needed the high temperatures on the left side and the low temperatures on the right side. The top row start with colours that match the daily highs followed by the daily lows for the first week of January. This continued through out the quilt. The cold winter days are represented by greys and the hot summer days are represented by oranges. By December I was standing on the doorstep begging for some really cold weather as the quilt needed dark greys in the lower right hand side. It did not happen...
The binding gives a brief nod to Covid. In mid-March the binding changes from happy orange to somber grey.
The quilting stitch design was inspired by the windy days typical of a maritime province."
Techniques: Machine Pieced, Machine Quilted on a frame (longarm)
