Description:
Inspired by a photo taken at Missouri Botanical Garden, this wall quilt was made by Josephine and Regina in four sections, using different applique and color rendering techniques (fused and machine stitched, turned under and machine blind stitched, hand applique, paint, hand-dyed fabric and commercial prints, hand embroidery, machine embroidery). When cutting away the fabric behind the applique, Jo accidently cut through the top layer. Serendipitously, the bee created to cover the slit adds much interest to the artwork. The panels were deliberately set together off-kilter for a slight cubistic effect.
